Autumn Coffee Recipes To Make At Home

There is nothing better than getting cosy with a delicious hot drink during the colder months and we all know that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is the Autumn go-to. As well as the PSL, there are so many other delicious seasonal coffees to choose from that will keep you warm. Some of these include Gingerbread Latte, Maple Cinnamon Latte and S'mores Latte.

If you're like us and want to avoid the cold as much as possible, making your own Autumnal coffee at home sounds very inviting. If you're looking to spice up your average coffee during Autumn, keep reading for some delicious recipes...

Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

This is a super simple recipe - the only complicated bit of this is getting all of the right ingredients! 

Homemade pumpkin spice latte

What You Need

  • 470ml milk (of your choice, dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoons pumpkin puree (or more if you'd like)
  • 1-3 tablespoons sugar (depending how much of a sweet tooth you have)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (extra for serving)
  • 120ml strong hot coffee
  • Whipped cream

What To Do

  1. Heat the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spices and vanilla extract on the hob
  2. Make 120ml of strong black coffee
  3. Combine the strong coffee and pumpkin spice milk
  4. Service with whipped cream and extra pumpkin pie spice on top 

Gingerbread Latte Recipe

This drink is perfect during Autumn and Winter, especially at Christmas because of the delicious Gingerbread flavour.

Homemade Gingerbread Latte

What You Need

  • 335ml of milk (any milk you like, dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (or more if you'd prefer!)
  • 1 tablespoon molasses/black treacle
  • 120ml freshly brewed espresso or very strong coffee
  • Whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles

What To Do

  1. Heat up 60ml of milk with the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, brown sugar and molasses in a saucepan until the spices and sugar have dissolved
  2. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the freshly brewed espresso
  3. Steam the rest of the milk and add to the mixture
  4. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles to finish

Maple Cinnamon Latte Recipe

If either of the above drinks are too sweet for you, this is a great alternative as the flavours of the cinnamon and maple syrup are the perfect combination with coffee.

Homemade Maple Cinnamon Latte

What You Need

  • 180ml of milk (any milk you like, dairy or non-dairy)
  • 120ml coffee (as strong as you like it)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or more if you'd like)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (more to serve)
  • 1 cinnamon stick to garnish

 

What To Do

  1. Pour milk into a mason jar, screw on the lid and shake for 10-15 seconds until foam forms
  2. Remove the lid and microwave for 45 seconds or until the milk is hot and foam (make sure to keep an eye on it so it doesn't bubble over)
  3. Pour the hot coffee into a mug and stir in the maple syrup and cinnamon
  4. Top with the milk with the foam on top.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and add the cinnamon stick to garnish

S'Mores Latte Recipe

S'mores are a well-loved sweet treat, so combining this with your favourite hot drink is nostalgia in a mug.

Homemade Smores Latte

What You Need

  • Chocolate sauce
  • 3-4 mini or 1 large marshmallow
  • 1 crushed Graham cracker/tea biscuit
  • 1 tablespoon coffee
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)
  • As much milk to your taste (either hot or cold)
  • Whipped cream

 

What To Do

  1. Pour 2 swirls of chocolate sauce around the sides of your mug
  2. Add marshmallows, tea biscuits, coffee and brown sugar into the mug and whisk until well-blended
  3. Add 8 ounces of coffee and add your milk to suit your taste. If you are heating the milk, heat it until it is warm to touch and then make foam by frothing it up.
  4. Top with the foamed milk and whipped cream, tea biscuit crumbs, pinch of brown sugar and marshmallows to serve.
